Georgetown Art Strolls - Featured Artist

Mark your calendars for the Georgetown Spring Art Stroll on Thursday, April 21, 2022! The Stroll will take place in the Downtown Georgetown Cultural District from 4-8pm and is an opportunity for patrons to engage in arts programming and purchase art in Grace Plaza, as well as from local arts businesses and arts and culture organizations. Local arts businesses and arts and culture organizations will each offer a unique program of engaging arts activities. Subsequent Art Strolls will be held on a semi-annual basis on third Thursdays in October and April, with the inaugural annual Georgetown Arts Festival on Saturday, October 22, 2022.

Start your stroll at the Georgetown Art Center to pick up your event map and view the area for the future South Main Arts District. Artist booths will be set up in Grace Plaza with a live music performance at the Art Center Splash Pad by Lost & Nameless. An artist demonstration and artist talk by renowned local artists Carol Light and Sue Bishop will be held at Grace Chapel during the Full Circle Speaker Series. Then stroll across the Cultural District to visit the local arts businesses and cultural organizations as you make your way over to Georgetown’s newest mural, Traditions to the Future by Mila Sketch. Enjoy face-painting by Lady B Face Painting and beverages from Southbound Sips while posing at a photo booth with the mural as your backdrop and a special mural dedication ceremony with Georgetown Mayor Schroeder at 7:15pm! Stroll over to the Georgetown Public Library to view the new crosswalk art and provide feedback for this new type of public art, while sampling ice cream from Scoops. Full Circle guest speaker Sue Bishop will have artwork exhibited with artist Lisa Miller inside the Library as well. Finally, enjoy tours of the Shotgun House Museum and view the beloved Preserving History mural by local artists Devon Clarkson and Norma Clark.

There are many restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the South Main Arts District– such as Kork Wine Bar, Sweet Lemon Kitchen, District 6, Thundercloud Subs, and Lampost Coffee – as well as many other options around the Square. Pick up a glass of wine or other beverage at any of these restaurant locations to take along with you as you engage in arts and cultural offerings during the evening art stroll.

Event maps will be provided at the Check-In area at the Georgetown Art Center & each venue, or click here for the online map: Online Map
