Detailed Itinerary

We will begin our tour at the Henry B. González Convention Center one hour before sunrise. Once the group is gathered together we will head towards the Riverwalk to photograph the predawn twinkling lights hanging in the trees above the river. As we make our way along the river you will notice the reflections in the water of the colorful lights and umbrellas from the riverside restaurants. As the sun begins to rise we will head towards the Alamo, photographing the many historical buildings along the way. During the early morning hour it is the best time to get unobstructed views of the buildings.

After grabbing a quick morning snack, we will head to the La Villa. Located on the south bank of the San Antonio River, La Villita was San Antonio’s first neighborhood. It was originally a settlement of primitive huts for the Spanish soldiers stationed at the Mission San Antonio Valero (the Alamo). This area offers a rich cultural perceptive to the city.

As we make our way back to the Riverwalk we will enjoy a morning river cruise. This informative boat tour will allow you unique ways to photograph the city.

Once our river cruise has concluded we will head towards the Historic Pearl Market, where vendors await weekend visitors with food and crafts. This is a great place to get some interesting close up images of stalls and people.

While in the Pearl Market, we will stop at a local Tex-Mex restaurant for lunch, during which we will discuss any photographic challenges and successes we have had thus far.

After lunch we will walk through Brackenridge Park on our way to the Japanese Tea Garden.

In the afternoon we will make our way back along the river seeing how the light has changed from morning to afternoon, capturing images of the art and nature along the river.

We will conclude our tour at the Tower of the Americas. The courtyard provides beautiful views of the 750ft Tower.
