Winter Wings Festival - Keynote Speaker & Field Trip Leader

Return to the Klamath Basin, February 18–20, 2022, to see the largest concentration of wintering Bald Eagles in the Lower 48 states and enjoy other wintering bird species, typically numbering about 130 or more. As the oldest birding festival in the West, we are proud to continue our festival tradition in person in 2022. With the pandemic conditions, however, we are requiring participants and leaders to be vaccinated.

We hope to educate visitors on the importance of the Klamath Basin in the Pacific Flyway.

Our featured speakers/leaders include Richard Crossley, Jennifer Leigh Warner, and Isabelle Edwards. Crossley turned the birding guide world upside down with his new approach to birding guides and now with onotherapy. Warner is a fine art conservation wildlife photographer in Central Texas committed to creating meaningful images that inspire the preservation of the natural world. A rising star in the photography world, 18-year old Edwards from Maple Valley Washington photographed all North American owls during the pandemic year.
