International Cheetah Day

Dominic, an Ambassador Cheetah that lives at the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Namibia shows off his speed as he chases after a lure.

Celebrate the cheetah on December 4th! In 2010, Dr. Laurie Marker designated December 4th as International Cheetah Day. The annual celebration was set in remembrance of a cheetah cub named Khayam, that she raised at Wildlife Safari in Winston, Oregon.

My relationship with Cheetahs

When I was a small child I learned about the fastest land mammal, the cheetah. From that day on I was hooked. I not only thought they were beautiful, which they are, but I was drawn to how unique this cat species is. When I heard about their decline I wanted to do everything in my power to help save them.

I realized that photography was a powerful tool to get people to learn and fall in love with this animal, just as I did.

In 2017 I started working with the Cheetah Conservation Fund, which was founded by Dr. Laurie Marker. I traveled to Namibia, the cheetah capitol of the world to document the work that Dr. Marker and her team were doing to save cheetahs in the wild.

I donate a portion of all my image proceeds back to CCF to help support their mission and use my images to help educate people about what they can do to save the cheetah.

Join me in africa to photograph cheetahs in the wild and learn about conservation efforts being made in kenya.
