Overview
Join Professional Wildlife Photographer Jennifer Leigh Warner in La Jolla, California to photograph the majestic seascapes and marine wildlife that call this place home. One of the only mainland rookeries for harbor seals and California sea lions you will get a chance to see new born marine mammals for a safe distance without disturbing them. We will also photographed the dozens of species of shorebirds that nest and fish along the shore.
Itinerary
Friday July 1
3:00 PM We will meet at the Children’s Pool lifeguard stand and have a roughly half an hour long presentation about photograph settings, how best to photograph birds and the ethics behind photographing marine mammals.
3:30 PM - 7:00 PM We will photograph the harbor seals, California sea lions and the shorebirds along the coast. You will be one on one instruction on how to best creatively capture the scene.
7:00 AM - 8:00 PM We will have a wrap up Dinner where we will discuss how the workshop went and how best to edit the photos that we made.

About Your Trip Leader
Jennifer Leigh Warner is a Fine Art Conservation Wildlife Photographer living in Central Texas and specializes in creating meaningful images that conveys a message of hope for the natural world. Jennifer feels strongly that by sharing these images of beautiful animals in their natural environment, she can inspire those around her to preserve the world that we share with all living creatures.
Jennifer has led photography tours and has photographed on her own in Grand Teton National Park for over 15 years. Her photographs made during these trips have been seen in publications such as Outdoor Photographer Magazine and used to support local conservation efforts.
As the Chair of the Ethics Committee for the North America Nature Photographers Association Jennifer promotes the ethical practice of photographing wildlife.
Jennifer works closely with conservation organizations to help support their missions to protect wildlife and the world around us. She believes that photography is a powerful tool to share these stories, educate photo viewers on important topics and inspire change.
Jennifer’s work has been published in Gizmodo, the NANPA Expressions Magazine, Outdoor Photographer Magazine, WIRED, The New Yorker, National Geographic Online and Wild Planet Photo Magazine among others.
In addition to Jennifer’s photography she is a public speaker, workshop leader and photo tour leader. She is available to present for camera clubs, bird festivals, conservation groups and school programs.
