YELLOWSTONE: Bears of the Greater Yellowstone Area

Photography Tour by Wildside Nature Tours

DATES: June 5-10, 2025

TRIP LEADERS: JENNIFER LEIGH WARNER

COST: $3,999PP

GROUP SIZE: 3

Late Springtime in the Greater Yellowstone Area is the best time and place to photograph wild bears in the Lower 48. Fresh out of hibernation bears are busy digging up roots and seeking out newly born elk calves. Oftentimes cubs are seen with sow bears and photographing them in the Arrowleaf balsamroot,a bright yellow wildflower, is a treat. Because bears are the main focus of this tour we will often sit and wait for the bears to move into the right location for exceptional photographs.

*Although we will eat our meals as a group, meals costs are not included in this tour.

**WILDSIDE NATURE TOURS IS AN AUTHORIZED PERMITTEE OF GRAND TETONS NATIONAL PARK & YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK.

Length of Tour

6-days/5-nights

Day 1 – Arrive in Jackson Hole

Day 2-4 Spend the next several days photographing bears in both Grand Teton and possibly some of Yellowstone National Parks.

Day 5 Return Home

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive in Jackson Hole We will meet in Jackson Hole and have a meet and greet dinner. At dinner we will discuss what to expect in the coming week, photography strategies, logistics, and ethical wildlife photography. Depending on flights we may head into the park in the evening due to the late sunset this time of year.

Day 2 – 4 Over the next several days we will travel to areas of the parks that bears have been recently spotted. We may sit and wait for the bears to get closer to the roads in order to get more dynamic photographs.

Day 5 – Depending on flight departure times, we may be able to squeeze in one last sunrise session at a nearby location. From there, we depart for home.
