After four long years of waiting the North American Nature Photography Association met once again for their Summit Conference. Located in the beautiful Westin La Paloma resort in Tucson, Arizona hundreds of Nature Photographers came together to celebrate past achievements and learn from the best in the industry. With keynote speakers like Dave Showalter and Gabby Salazar there was no shortage of inspiration.

NANPA MISSION AWARD WINNER

Jennifer Leigh Warner has been leading NANPA’s work on ethical nature photography, is a mentor in the Summit College Photography Scholarship Program, and a most deserving recipient of NANPA’s Mission Award. Other recipients were John Lock for all his technical support (Mission Award) and Ted Moreno (Service Award) for his past leadership of the Awards Committee. Many thanks to each for their service and commitment to NANPA.

The NANPA Summit has always been more than just a learning experience. The coming together of photographers allows for networking opportunities that cannot be found any where else. Jennifer served as a mentor for the 2023 College scholarship Program, whose film showcased on the final evening of the summit.

In addition to working with the College Scholarship Program Jennifer hosted an Ethics Sip & Share, allowing NANPA members to come together to discuss ethics within the industry.

Another networking event was an informal dinner meet up with the mentors and ambassadors of Girls Who Click.

No photo conference would be complete without photographing the local wildlife. Thanks to the Tucson Audubon for the access to the incredible habitat for capturing your native wildlife.

It felt so great to get back to these in-person events and to be able to see some many old friends and new friends at this event.

After the Summit concluded it was announced that Jennifer was elected as the newest member of the NANPA Board of Directors. She will serve for the next three years.
